Petit Workshop have a beautifully handmade aesthetic, creating incredible worlds out of paper, light and shadow. They use 3D puppetry, shadow puppetry, and live action to play with scale and theatrical magic to utilise the power of imagination.
Petit Workshop formed in 2012 when a group of performers with a passion for beautiful, handmade theatre united to create a piece for the Short & Sweet Festival.
During this festival The Soldier's Heart & The Feathered Girl progressed from small time Wild Card performance to take out Best Drama Script, Best Wild Card and People's Choice at the Gala Finals. Theatreview said "it warrants an extended running time to further challenge the limits of its devisers' imaginations and creativity".
Since then, Petit Workshop were selected to continue the development of The Soldier's Heart & The Feathered Girl with Red Leap Theatre as part of their Incubator and Short Works programmes. The show had a successful season at The Basement in October 2013 as part of The Feast season of new theatre works.
Petit Workshop continue to build a body of high-quality and innovative shows that can be performed anywhere, are easily tourable, and appeal to a wide range of audiences.
